Last week we celebrated the graduation of the third SARC Ladder Step Up Inner Gippsland program, that was based in Bass Coast, Victoria.

This program supports young people aged 12-18, who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education, training or employment.

Our Ladder Development Coaches worked one-on-one with each program participant as well as together in group mentoring sessions. Our young people stepped out of their comfort zones and set both big and small goals to achieve throughout the program.

"Ladder was lots of fun and gave me something to do. It got me out of the house." – Ladder program participant

We are proud of the achievements our young people have made since completing the program. These have included:

  • Developing their own resumes and actively seeking employment
  • Re-engaging at school after initially having no interest to return
  • Continuing to remain supported by Ladder Development Coaches to assist with their self-identified goals.

“I appreciate Ladder. I feel more confident now.” – Ladder program participant

We look forward to welcoming the next group of young people into the next Step Up Inner Gippsland program that commences on Wednesday 17th April in the Bass Coast.
