What we do

We exist to make young people’s lives better.

AFL players believe that every young person deserves an opportunity to succeed.

Through the players community initiative, Ladder, young people are mentored and provided with unique opportunities to achieve their goals.

Our programs support young people to improve in key domains including self-efficacy, community connection, health and wellbeing, independent living skills and education, employment and training.

What young people said about the Ladder program

"It's a great program to help young adults become independent"

“I have learnt that I can achieve anything I set my heart and mind to achieve. I’m doing better with each day”

“[I now] have what employers look for. I enjoyed the mock interviews because I’ve never been to a real job interview. It was good to get an idea”

“I have gained better lifestyle skills and how to be healthier”
