What we do

We exist to make young people’s lives better.

AFL players believe that every young person deserves an opportunity to succeed.

Through the players community initiative, Ladder, young people are mentored and provided with unique opportunities to achieve their goals.

Our programs support young people to improve in key domains including community connection, health and wellbeing, independent living skills and education, employment and training.

Where we work

Our programs and services, including mentoring, can be delivered anywhere in Australia. While retaining the integrity of our service delivery, our programs can be tailored to the needs of young people in your local community.

We do not believe in a one size fits all model and are committed to working in partnership to co-design a program or service that will truly engage and benefit young people in your community.  If you are interested in hearing more about Ladder, and how we might support your community, please contact us at [email protected]

Currently, Ladder programs and services are delivered at a range of locations across Australia. These locations can vary from time to time, to reflect the delivery of short-term programs or projects, and funding cycles.

Please visit the "How we help" section to find out more about our programs.

What young people said about the Ladder program

"It's a great program to help young adults become independent"

“I have learnt that I can achieve anything I set my heart and mind to achieve. I’m doing better with each day”

“[I now] have what employers look for. I enjoyed the mock interviews because I’ve never been to a real job interview. It was good to get an idea”

“I have gained better lifestyle skills and how to be healthier”

If you are interested in finding out more about our specific programs, please visit the "How we help" section.
