The second Ladder Step Up Inner Gippsland program based in Baw Baw, Victoria recently saw nine young people graduating from the program.

This program supports young people aged 12-18, who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education, training or employment and follows on from the successful first program that graduated two-months prior.

Of the nine graduates from this program:

  • -        Two young people are enrolled in TAFE next year to complete a Certificate 3 in Individual Support and Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Development.
  • -        One young person gained employment as a Labourer in the Construction industry and will begin his apprenticeship as a Carpenter next year.
  • -        Two young people are currently utilising the resumes they created in the program to seek employment.
  • -        Two young people have decided to continue receiving support through Ladder’s augmented Reconnect program.
  • -        Two young people have re-engaged with their school and plan to return.

“Ladder is an excellent program with amazing people. I learnt so much with Ladder and they made me realise that I can do so much more than I thought I could” – Ella, program participant

“Life is short. Take the opportunity when it comes to you, Ladder was an amazing opportunity” – Skye, program participant

We look forward to working with the next group of young people as the two Bass Coast programs commence in the new year.
