As the official charity of the AFL Players’ Association, AFL and AFLW players make a lasting contribution to Ladder programs and our young people.

Yesterday, the North Melbourne Football Club hosted Ladder program participants at Arden Street. The young people watched the player’s training session in the morning and were met by AFLW player Emma Kearney, who kindly took the young people and Ladder Development Coaches onto the field afterwards. Players introduced themselves to participants and asked them questions about their time in the program. As employment is a major focus for this particular program, it was nice to see the players took a keen interest to hear about their career goals. The young people also had the opportunity to chat with the players and ask them questions during a kick-to-kick.

Following the training session, Emma took the group for a tour around the club. This was an exciting and new experience for the young people and they met more players in the corridors. They saw all the different areas that make up the club including The Huddle, the community arm of North Melbourne.

"I had so much fun. It was good to have a chat and kick with the players" - Fraser, program participant

The North Melbourne Football and its players have a proud history of supporting Ladder and our young people. Sincerest thanks to everyone at the Club who took the time to give our young people a fantastic experience.
