Ash - Development Coach, Step Up Latrobe Valley

Ash first began her journey with Ladder in the November of 2020. Ash initially became involved as a community mentor for one of our young people. This allowed Ash to experience firsthand the significant impact the program, staff and mentors alike, have on the youth of Latrobe Valley. So, when the opportunity to join the team came up in the July of 2021, Ash was eager to continue and extend her positive impact as a Development Coach.

Ash has always had a passion for community, understanding the meaningful role community connection plays in all our lives. She also has a passion for health and fitness, playing several sports and she loves to cook nutritious meals. These two passions combine with Ash being heavily involved in her local football netball club. Ash is a player, runs the social committee and does the First Aid for the U15s and A Grade netball teams. She has also previously been a cricket coach for an U12s team, understanding how important it is for children to be active and social.

Ash has completed a Diploma of Youth Work and initially used this qualification in her role as a Disability Support Worker. The learnings she had in this role have allowed her to jump into the Step Up Latrobe Valley with two feet. Ash is most looking forward to being able to improve the lives of young people in the community and help set them up for a positive future.

Ash is bubbly, warm and approachable. Her wide variety of interests and friendly nature gives her the ability to connect with every young person that walks through our doors. Outside of the Ladder office, you will find Ash tearing up the netball court, playing the piano, sewing and living a sustainable lifestyle.
