Step Up Sydney participants get job ready with yourtown

As part of the Step Up Sydney program, Ladder supports young people with job readiness. Recently we welcomed yourtown to the program to provide some additional support for our young people in researching the right job. This session enabled young people to think about what employment they want to pursue and what types of jobs are out there.

Young people took part in a number of “job search” activities including reviewing different CV templates and cover letters and were asked to provide feedback on how they could be improved.

For many of our young people in the Step Up Sydney program, this is the first time they will be applying for employment and Ladder provides young people with the skills and confidence to tackle what can sometimes be a daunting experience.

Young people had lots of questions to ask and now have a better understanding of the standards employers expect from future employees. We look forward to continuing to support our young people to engage in employment as part of the program.
