Ladder Step Up Latrobe Valley kicked off its 20th program last week and it is now in full swing. Last weekprogram participants engaged in a number of Ladder Development Programs (LDPs) covering topics on nutrition and sleep, motivation and discipline and resilience.

The young people were able to put these skills into practice when they attended a sports and fitness session facilitated by the local Reclink. Reclink Australia provides evidence-based sport and art programs to Australians to create socially inclusive, life-changing opportunities. Reclink was also kind enough to gift Ladder with two sports packs for us to utilise in our programs moving forward.

The young people started off with some warm-up activities and worked their way up to participate in team relays, dodgeball and basketball. Each young person engaged well in all the activities and really stepped out of their comfort zone, some trying new activities they had never done before.

We look forward to attending Reclink sessions on a weekly basis and seeing both the confidence and fitness of our young people increase throughout the program.
