To kick off National Youth Week, we want to congratulate and celebrate our most recent Step Up Latrobe Valley program participants who have just graduated from Program 18.

Each program has a particular focus and for these young people, it was job readiness as well as communication skills and overall confidence which definitely go hand in hand. The mock interviews facilitated with ANZ staff was a highlight for everyone involved. The young people did a fantastic job and received such positive feedback from ANZ staff.

Weekly goal setting played a big part in this program, with our young people identifying a goal at the start of each week about something they wanted to achieve by the end of the week. Our Development Coaches supported them with their weekly goals, big or small, and were so impressed how the young people thrived throughout the program.

The young people were also able to give back to the community and prepared 145 meals at Morwell Neighbourhood House for their local food bank. Their social enterprise 'A Kinder Cup' cafe was the venue of the graduation and it was great to see Simone, Alumni participant and 'A Kinder Cup' cafe employee take orders, make coffees and serve food to the guests.

Program 18 participants have graduated and walked away with new friendships, confidence and skills. We will continue to support them along their journeys.
