Recently, AFL Premiership player Cam Guthrie hosted a session with Ladder participants on resilience and his own personal experience of overcoming barriers in his career. Cam joins a long list of AFL and AFLW players who have supported participants by sharing their own, very personal stories and experiences.

Cam had lots of great advice for our young people and one of the key messages the group took away was that “no one is perfect and that everyone makes mistakes, which are all lessons which you can learn from.”

Program 23 of the Ladder Step Up Latrobe Valley program has many footy fans, even a few Cats fans, so they were delighted that Cam gave up his time to answer questions on a range of topics including his personal experience of overcoming adversity, commitment to his career, and what it was like to win an AFL Grand Final.

We would like to sincerely thank Cam for taking the time out of his day to speak with our young people and for the Geelong Football Club for its support to make this happen.
