Ladder delivers the Step Up Latrobe Valley Program to young people aged 16 to 25 years old to local young people across the Latrobe Valley. The program was established in 2017 to address the high rate of youth unemployment in the Latrobe Valley region through holistic and intensive support including six weeks of development sessions access to the support of their Ladder Development Coach for 12 months and the opportunity to be matched with a mentor from the community.

Ladder recently launched the Step Up Latrobe Valley Impact Report to highlight all the achievements of the program and the young people its supported. 

The report outlines that of the 178 young people who have graduated:

  • 83% are engaged in education, employment and training post the Ladder program
  • 100% would recommend the Ladder Step Up Latrobe Valley program to other young people in their situation
  • 92.5% feel more motivated to achieve their education, employment and training goals
  • 87% believe that Ladder’s coaching methodology helped them to achieve their goals
  • 92.5% have successfully identified and progressed their education, employment and training goals
  • 90% feel more independent now
  • 85% have improved their physical health
  • 90% feel more connected to their community
  • 90% agree that participating in the Ladder Step Up Latrobe Valley program had helped them to achieve or get closer to achieving their goals
