Yesterday we celebrated the success of another incredible group of young people who completed the Step Up Latrobe Valley program in Gippsland.

The Step Up program is tailored to support young people at risk of disengaging or who are already disengaging from education, training, or employment. We are so proud of all of our new graduates for completing the program, successfully crafting resumes, applying for jobs and courses, and connecting with their local community including volunteering at the People’s Kitchen at Morwell
Neighbourhood House.

Each graduate has displayed incredible amounts of kindness, empathy, determination, confidence, and a can-do attitude throughout the program. They seized every opportunity for growth and development in their one-on-one sessions with their Development Coaches. The young people also participated in meaningful opportunities that enabled them to forge friendships and leave an impact on their local community.

Reflecting on their time, one of the graduates expressed, "I have loved being part of the program, making new friends, and learning invaluable life skills." Another echoing similar sentiment saying, "Over the five weeks, I've learned a lot and had the best fun with my new friends and the Development Coaches. I didn't want it to end."

Our young people really stepped out of their comfort zones and have reached both big and small milestones with the program's guidance. As they transition to our Ladder alumni program, they continue to receive comprehensive support across all aspects of their lives.

We look forward to welcoming the next group of young people into the next Step Up Latrobe Valley program that commences on Monday the 27th of May.
