Ladder Step Up Latrobe Valley Impact Report 2020 Ladder delivers the Step Up Latrobe Valley Program to young people aged 16 to 25 years old to local young people across the Latrobe Valley. The program was established in 2017 to address the high rate of youth unemployment in the Latrobe Valley region through holistic and intensive support including six weeks of development sessions access to the support of their Ladder Development Coach for 12 months and the opportunity to be matched with a mentor from the community. Ladder recently launched the Step Up Latrobe Valley Impact Report to highlight all the achievements of the program and the young people its supported. Some program highlights outlined within the report include: 111 young people graduated the Ladder Step Up Latrobe Valley program 47 young people re-engaged in secondary or vocational education 168 jobs applied for by participants 67 young people employed post program completion 51 young people have been successfully matched with community mentors In addition, young people who have participated in the program have seen a range of positive outcomes in the following areas: 72% of program participants feel more connected to their community 88% of program participants feel more independent now 85% of program participants have improved their physical health 885 of program participants feel more motivated to achieve their education, employment and training goals 92% of program participants would recommend the Ladder Step Up Latrobe Valley program to other young people in their situation.
