For the first time, Ladder is now supporting young people across Tasmania, Queensland and the ACT, through the Ladder Step Up Online program.

Ladder Step Up Online program has been crucial in enabling Ladder to continue delivering vital services to young people during the COVID-19 pandemic. This program has played a key role in keeping young people connected and in a positive mindset.

The fact that it has allowed us to expand our services interstate and remove geographical limitations creates new opportunities to engage more young people, particularly those that may not otherwise be able to access support.

As the effects of COVID-19 are felt long after restrictions ease, building the capacity of young people to improve their health and wellbeing, connect with their community and progress their education, employment and training goals will be critical to young people’s recovery.

Step Up Online program participant, Casey shared her thoughts with Ladder staff:

“I enjoyed the program, it helped me grow as a person and helped me think more positively about myself and helped me learn about healthy and respectful relationships. I always felt welcomed in the group and you guys always made sure everyone was included and felt safe to share their thoughts and opinions. Especially at the moment with the current state of the world learning how to stay positive and ways to deal with negative situations is important.”
