Ladder Geelong end the year on a high note

Christmas was particularly special for Ladder Geelong this year, with program participants receiving gifts and sporting equipment thanks to the wonderful support of local organisations and the AFL.

The AFL and Cotton On provided gifts for the young people, while Sporting Globe Geelong and Adventure Kids Australia assisted with the Christmas dinner and the purchase of new sporting equipment for the program.

"We sincerely thank these organisations for supporting the Ladder Geelong program and the young people we work with," Victorian State Manager, Sarah Bourke said.

The dinner was also an opportunity to thank and farewell outgoing Development Coach and Melbourne Vixen player, Tegan Phillip who joined Ladder in 2012.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity that Ladder has provided me in my role as Development Coach," Ms Phillip said.

I've really enjoyed working with each young person to support their future development and really admire their strength, determination and resilience.

It's been extremely rewarding and a pleasure to work alongside them."

Ms Bourke praised Tegan for her meaningful contribution to Ladder.

"A sincere thank you to Tegan for her commitment to Ladder and making a real difference to the lives of young people in the Geelong region.

"We will miss Tegan but look forward to cheering her and the Melbouren Vixens on," Ms Bourke said.
