Australian tennis star, Storm Sanders gets behind Ladder
Australian tennis player, Storm Sanders has teamed up with Ladder to help make a difference to the lives of young people who have experienced or been at-risk of homelessness.
Sanders joins a growing group of elite athletes who support the organisation as mentors, staff, volunteers and ambassadors.
"When I heard about the amazing work that Ladder does for these young people, I had to get involved straight away," she said.
Sanders, fresh from winning the female doubles title at the Australian Pro Tour's Canberra International , caught up with Ladder staff and young people from the program at Melbourne Park last week.
'Every young person should be able to grow up in a safe and stable environment and have the opportunity to chase their dreams.
"I want these young people to believe they can achieve anything and not be defined by homelessness," Sanders said.
While at Melbourne Park, the group were taken on a tour of the world class Tennis Centre facility courtesy of Tennis Australia.
Ladder Community Engagement Coordinator, Ben Mabon thanked Tennis Australia for their support.
“We cannot thank Tennis Australia enough. It was a wonderful afternoon that was thoroughly enjoyed by the young people who got to see world class athletes and facilities.
“These experiences and opportunities are key to keeping young people engaged and they create important connections to community," Mabon said.
